Demirköprü Floating Solar Power Plant

Türkiye's first floating solar project to receive a pre-licence under YEKA brings together engineering, floating systems and domestic solar technology through the partnership of Arya Solar, PMS Dock Marine Systems and Smart Güneş Teknolojileri.

To be built on the reservoir of the Demirköprü Dam in the Salihli district of Manisa, the project holds the first pre-licence granted for floating solar power plants under the YEKA scheme. The plant will have a grid output of 35 MW and a total panel capacity of 50.25 MWp, and is expected to generate approximately 77.6 million kWh of electricity per year.

Project Timeline

  • December 2025 — Won the YG25 Demirköprü Floating Solar project in the YEKA GES-2025 tenders.
  • January 2026 — Signed the contract with the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources.
  • July 2026 — Received the first floating solar pre-licence under YEKA.
  • Secured long-term financing of over EUR 20 million from Ziraat Bankası with a 16-year term and a one-year grace period.
  • Started site works on the power transmission line for the grid connection.

Why Floating Solar?

Floating solar plants require no land, and the cooling effect of the water supports panel efficiency. With floating platforms, mooring and shore connection systems designed for the water level, wind and wave conditions of the site, Demirköprü Floating Solar aims to set an example for floating solar investments in Türkiye.
